Do we Elves have a Sixth Sense that Allows us to See Everything Around Us? And do we Elves Show our Emotions Mostly in our Eyes?

Do we elves have a sixth sense that allows us to see everything around us?

     Those of us who are elfae; and those who aren't elfae but do magic, too; and those who are of a religious bent, especially those who are mystic; as well as those who are meditators; and, of course, those who have received enlightenment, at least in part, from the herbs of Nature are more inclined, overall, to have a greater connection to and feeling for the spirit world. We become more attuned in that way.

     Children often just naturally see into the ethereal realms until the world convinces them that what they are seeing isn't real. And, of course, dogs and surely cats and other animals see things that the normal folk are no longer able to see. Some of us, especially those of an elfae nature, simply don't lose that ability that we had when we were really young or at least not entirely. Sometimes, perhaps often, we conceal that we see things that others do not. And we generally don't talk about it to those who don't also 'see', for they wouldn't believe us anyway, but we still see things of an otherworldly nature.

     But more than that, we think, we tend to 'feel/sense' things. It is not so much a matter of seeing with our eyes but feeling with our souls and our instincts. We frequently know that what we feel is not always exactly correct. For the otherworld does tend to be a bit 'misty' to perceive and that can arouse our paranoias. However, we also know that to ignore our instincts is, frequently, to suffer for doing so. So, we pay close attention to our feelings and instincts but we endeavor to not jump to conclusions until the mist clears and we can see/feel more clearly. Then, we may jump if we have to but we are better prepared to do so.

     The fact is that we elfae folk are usually imbued by legend, lore and myth with powers that we don't entirely have at the moment. Some people take that as a sign that we are not really the elves, faeries, gnomes, pixies, etc. that we claim we are because we don't live up to their expectations of the powers they think we should have and the physical form they've come to expect us, from various tales, to have. Which is, in part, why we don't go generally around claiming we are elves. Rather, we just live our lives as the elves that we truly are and we leave others to think of us what they will. We are not here to live up to their expectations. Nor do we have any interest in doing so. Except for the fact that, yes, some of the things they think we should be sound pretty good to us as well. We'd love to have naturally pointed ears if it wasn't for the fact that if we did, they'd probably decide pointed ears were a sign of the devil and would murder us for having them. And then our parents would have our ears clipped in secret after we were born in a sort of circumcision in order to protect us. Which, if you go by some elven lore (which we are now making up) is how we came to have rounded ears in our current manifestations.

     And naturally, we'd like to be immortal. That is one of the primary goals of all life and certainly one that we elfae and nearly everyone else have embraced. It is, really, a matter of time and, of course, as always, a continuing effort to evolve and develop ours'elves. 



And do we elves show our emotions mostly in our eyes?

     Well, as always, it depends upon the individual elfae. And elfae is a term that indicates the vast variety of elfin faerie life and beings from elves to trolls, faeries to goblins, pixies to grimlins and all folk from the Realm of Faerie. Even, if you just speak of we elves, we are not all the same. In fact, we elves are noted for being quite different as individuals. You might say that being unique as individuals is part of what makes us elven unique as a people. That and the reality that we accept uniqueness and eccentricity instead of trying to peer pressure it to death.

      We elves are not, overall, an emotional people. We are a more feeling folk than emotionally inclined. Our feelings are subtle and we are usually less demonstrative about them, although we can be quite enthusiastic when it comes to our elf friends, family and kindred. We like them to know how much we love and adore them. As well as us being rather childlike in our enthusiasm concerning our particular interests and advocations. As we mature, of course, we become less inclined to gabber about our enthusiasms than when we are younger, but still, if you ask, we'll be glad to tell you all about them.

     We Silver Elves for our part do make a distinction between emotions and feelings. And this is important to understand. We see emotions as feelings that have been aroused mainly by thoughts. They are, to our minds, like coffee that has had a bunch of water poured into it. Or, perhaps better, a clear spring where the mud at the bottom has been stirred up. Feelings are pure water, emotions are the mud. 

     To get to one's true feelings, one has to remove the logic of the mind from it and get down to the feelings themselves. Which usually involves going back to that period in one's life before the mind, the opinions or introjects of one's parents and society began being interposed on everything in an attempt to enculturate us.

     We also feel the same way about 'gut instincts'. Most people when they talk about 'trusting their gut' usually mean not thinking about things and just doing what they 'feel' like doing. Except, if they are not self examined using some sort of somatic meditation then it is not usually their feelings they are talking about so much as their preconceptions and prejudices and often their desires. It is not instincts they are speaking of but a reluctance, in this case, to consider facts. In that way, it seems an avoidance of thought, but really it is an avoidance of reconsidering those things one has already set their mind on and accepted as fact. Yet, when true gut instincts are truly aroused, we elves have found it is wise to heed them. To do otherwise is usually to suffer for doing so.

     Part of what meditation is about is removing the influence of one's mind and coming to a place of silence where pure feeling and perception, without judgment can take place. It is a state of pure being. Which is why if someone asks if we think we are elves, we have to say that we don't think we are elves, which is to say we don't believe we are elves because of what we think entirely, but of who we are in our feelings and our pure being. Although, mostly it is a matter of magic, which is to say, we are elves because the magic we do is elven and we are shaped by our behaviors. But also, because we love all things faerie and elven and we believe, like those who say, 'You are what you eat,' that 'We are what we love.' 

     As to whether our emotions show mostly in our eyes, we'd have to say, it is not our emotions that are displayed in our eyes but our feelings and our vibrant life energy. We elven are not usually much for emotional displays other than those that illuminate what we truly feel and what we truly feel is a tremendous love for all of you.

Here below is a 7 day meditation on the 7 pointed Elven Star. Do Elves Get Depressed?

 

". . . certainly elves can get depressed. This is especially so for those elves who have recently awakened to being elven but have looked at the news in the world, the impending collapse of the ecosystem, massive and, in many ways surely, destructive climate change in progress, global pandemics and the rise of fascism in various forms around the world. . . . . In awakening to our otherkin natures and finding our kindred, we are usually filled with a joyous energy from the realization that we were always destined to do so and that finally the awaited time has come. This is true whether we connect through snail mail or the internet or some other form of communication, but it is especially true when we find each other in person. And further, when we begin to merge our lives and devote our beings toward the realization of Elfin on Earth, depression flees and almost never returns and we forge on together toward that better future that we know awaits us because we are creating it now."

Well, certainly elves can get depressed. This is especially so for those elves who have recently awakened to being elven but have looked at the news in the world, the impending collapse of the ecosystem, massive and, in many ways surely, destructive climate change in progress, global pandemics and the rise of fascism in various forms around the world. How can one not feel a little bit depressed about the world? (see our book Elven Psychology: Understanding the Elfin Psyche and the Evolutionary and Esoteric Purpose of Mental Disorders.)

     This is particularly true, since we know that it was all avoidable. That we could, this very day, alter our behaviors en masse as human beings and pursue a more constructive future for everyone and yet, there are still those who will stand up for their right to deny that there is anything called Climate Change, Global Warming, or that Mankind and their actions have anything to do with the massive ecosystem collapse that is in process at this very moment. Besides the fundamentalist would say, their one true, all-powerful God has it all in hand, they assure us. Science is fake news and the only thing that matters to them is their right to be bullies to everyone that they don’t approve of.

     So, yes, elves can get depressed. At the same time, most elves when we suffer from depression don’t suffer from primary depression states, but from manic-depression cycles. We are filled with energy and think that our art, music, protesting or political rants, or whatever we do will change the world and then, over time, when that doesn’t happen and the world seems to be slogging on slowly toward its doom as it nearly always is, we fall into a depression for a while until a new idea, vision, dream occurs to us and we are off again, spinning our magic outwardly, knowing that this time, for sure, we’ll transform it all with our power and our particular magic. 

     As we said, this is especially true when we are young elves and newly awakened. Part of this seems to come from the fact that we often have terrible diets having been raised among Men and in time, as we become more aware as elfae folk and as spiritual beings, we also begin to alter our diets, substituting junk food for nutritionally impactful and wholesome meals, often of organic foods. This serves to ground us and keep us from the roller coaster of emotional dramas that use to send us soaring into the ethers of hope and possibility and then down into the despair of hopelessness and meaninglessness.

     We also develop various spiritual practices such as meditation, yoga, spell casting, ceremonial magick and other occasional or daily activities that help keep us steady and upon the right course. These make a big difference in our lives. Plus, our creative efforts become more regular. We develop perseverance. We may yield the notion that our novel, symphony, art or whatever will change the whole world utterly and we become aware of the possibility of incremental changes. We often give up attempting to influence everyone and begin to satisfy ours’elves with helping and changing the lives of those to whom we feel most kin, and in doing so we refine our abilities to be elfin healers, magicians, and enchanters and enchantresses. We become the seas wearing away the high cliffs, bit by bit over time. 

     Of course, the world still seems to be driving furious toward the cliff of its doom, but realizing our spiritual nature we know that something will survive and we will find our place in it in some form or other. In that way, we are not unlike those Men in their faith with their various one true gods, except they think heaven will follow after and it doesn’t matter if they destroy the Earth or how they treat anyone who doesn’t agree with them. On the other hand, we are certain, being magic wielders, that our actions have consequences and we strive to do all that we can to make the world a better place and ours’elves better individuals for in doing so we secure our spiritual future.

     But most of all, we find each other. In awakening to our otherkin natures and finding our kindred, we are usually filled with a joyous energy from the realization that we were always destined to do so and that finally the awaited time has come. "What most people call consciousness is an awareness of their thoughts, beliefs and ideas. In the animal kingdom, consciousness is an instinctual awareness and lacks, for the most part, the beliefs, ideas and self-concepts found among humans. In the human being, the idea driven consciousness comes to fore but, as we’ve pointed out already, this is primarily directed and motivated by ideas ruled by our passions and emotionally connected ideas. We think ours’elves to be free but really our lives are controlled by these passions and beliefs.

When we are born into a particular life we come bearing the imprint on our souls of our previous experiences. Obviously, when we are reborn we don’t have the same body. So our bodies, as they currently exist, clearly are not a part of our immortal s’elf, although they are composed of the energy that is, in its’elf, immortal. We are mostly formed from Star-stuff or Stardust, and elves are particularly aware of this fact. So when we come into a new life, our soul/spirit gathers around it the available stardust/energy to form a new body.

Since this stardust also bears the imprint of its past, in the form of a DNA coding directive, we also come into each life with a racial consciousness, formed in what is often called the Collective Unconscious. We also have a human consciousness, and bear the imprint of our evolution through various forms from all our previous incarnations. To become truly immortal beings, that is to say, immortal in the way that vampires are seen as being immortal, having a permanent immortal physical body, we need to integrate our consciousness with and merge with the consciousness of the energy that temporarily composes us. Of course, elves are often also seen as being Immortal, particularly in our more ephemeral forms, or our ethereal or etheric bodies combined with our astral bodies.

In time our bodies will become more resilient, less physical, and more like light, thus more ephemeral. The dimensions we will reside within, the dimension of Elfin/Faerie will be similar to living in a dream. We will have greater powers, such as the power to fly, and the ability to do things that we can now only dream of doing. And yet it will be every bit as real as a dream seems when we are in it, or every bit as real as this illusionary world that we currently abide within.
Also, just as clearly when we pass from one body to another, we don’t carry our thoughts, feelings and beliefs with us, or our memories, unless indeed we have obtained continuity of consciousness and have born our mind through the death process, which, honestly, these particular elves are nowhere near to achieving. Are you? If you are, you will be able to tell because you will be able to remain aware throughout the night as your body sleeps without losing consciousness. Sleep, as we said, is the little death. It is the reflection in microcosm, As Above/So Below, As Within/So Without, of the life death cycle.

For most individuals, the death experience and the assumption of a new stardust body is like suffering from total amnesia. You don’t remember anything. You don’t even know what you know. For instance, in amnesia, you may know how to type or play a piano, but don’t you know that you know how to do it until you sit down at a typewriter, or computer, or piano and suddenly find that typing or playing piano comes automatically to you. So, too, in moving from one life to another, we carry certain abilities with us. We don’t necessarily know that we know, rather we feel we were born with certain talents and abilities, and indeed we were. Usually, we find we learn these things very quickly and easily. These skills seem to come naturally to us.

Our feelings, not so much our emotions, but mostly our feelings, because they are by their nature essentially unconscious, come easily through the transitional state of death. We may not remember whom we loved or liked or disliked, but if we encounter them again or someone like them we immediately sense our attraction, or our repulsion. There are certain individuals that we know immediately even though it seems we have never met them previously. So until we are able to carry our memories from life to life consciously, they are still born in our soul, particularly those things that are most important to us, which is love and relationship, as well as having an instinctual recognition of and attraction to those with whom we have a karmic connection either positive or negative.

We can see this fact reflected in our current life in our conscious and unconscious. The basic consciousness is everything of which we are currently aware. But we also have an unconscious which composes everything of which we are not aware, which for most of us is far vaster than our conscious awareness. Consider all the things we don’t know, and add to it all the things, events, facts, people, experiences we have forgotten, which are stored in our brains but which, for most of them, are lost to us except at certain times. So, too, are our experiences stored in our soul, but only accessible under certain profound circumstances, although occasionally brought to mind by our encounters in the world, just as memories may be brought back into consciousness by a particular, song, smell, or experience. Our soul stores all our experiences and in that way is linked to the Akashic record, which records all experiences of all beings. The Akashic record is the library of the Soul of the Universe."

We Silver Elves created this Color Magic system as something fluid and individual. You start with what Color Magic you feel you are drawn to. If you don't have a preference and are a person who likes things set in order, then start with One. If you are a person who likes to go more by your feelings, then choose first the one you are attracted to and feel you need in your life. It is said that if you like to look at this in terms of order, one might think of the color sequence in the image below as being akin to something like Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs, only applied to magic and ritual. For instance, it's hard to do Healing Green Magic, if one is under psychic attack and therefore one must first defend oneself and place barriers and be in a secure, safe place before one can do any healing. That is why, for example, Black Magic or Protection Magic is placed before Healing Green Magic. Also, "Health" is a perhaps the greatest wealth, which is why Healing Magic comes before Orange Magic for wealth generation, and so forth. But remember that we often are working on more than one magic at a time in our lives just as we have more than one need at a time that needs fulfilling. So while you certainly may go in an order 1 to 10, what you need is truly your decision and you may need to do more than one at a time. What is The Elven Way?

 

The Elven Way is not one path but a myriad of paths all leading to individual realization, which is to say making real and manifesting our true nature. And what is our nature? Our nature is to be ours'elves. And how do we discover who that is? We do it by examining our attractions and instinctual intuition and feelings. And by this we come to understand who we wish to be, because we wish to be certain beings because that's who we are. Dragons don't wish to be elves. Trolls don't wish to be faeries. We are all attracted to our own s'elves. Although, it is true there are those who are of mixed races, elf and dragon, elf and faerie, etc. Upon the Elven Way, it is all possible.



     We Silver Elves are asked "What is The Elven Way" perhaps more than any other question about our elven life and path. The answer is both very simple and quite complicated. The simple answer is that the Elven Way is the spiritual path of we Silver Elves and other elfae beings who wish to refine, improve and develop thems'elves in every way that they can in harmony with their own increasing understanding of who they are as an elfin being and in harmony with Nature and the Divine Magic. 

     That's the simple part. Here's where it gets complicated. We don't really have any rules other than as much as possible be polite and courteous. That is not a necessity but it is a basic wisdom of the Way. It makes for a lot less obstructions in the long run. And yes, there are people out there who will ridicule you for being an elf or faerie or dragon or whatever you are and are striving to manifest as, but, really, we Silver Elves have found that being courteous to them is the most effective way to deal with them. It unravels their expectations. That and the fact that you just have to shine some people on and, as Behavioral Psychology advises us, ignore them and give them no energy whatsoever. Otherwise, it's like feeding a stray dog. Which is okay if you don't mind it coming around, but not advisable if it is a dog that keeps trying to bite you.

     Also, we don't have any doctrines. Other than do your utmost to be your best of whatever kind of elfae sort you are and ever seek to improve yours'elf in whatever way you can. But defining what that is and how to do that is entirely up to the individual. For we elfae folk are an eccentric, individualistic bunch of folk, even while we, or most of us, love being together. This is difficult for many of those who are just beginning on the path, for they are seeking instruction on how to do this and all we can say is 'be yours'elf'. We do, however, learn from each other, especially our elvish magic. However, it is not so much a matter of imitating other elfae in detail but imitating our tendency to each be unique as each individual defines it for their own s'elf. Is that clear? We don't have followers; we just have kindred on the path. We don't have teachers; we just have all of us learning from each other.



     Further, we don't have dogmas. There is nothing you absolutely have to believe in order to participate on the Elven Way. Except, it helps if you believe in yours'elf and your own elfin nature and naturally it helps if you believe in magic because if you don't, you're unlikely to believe in yours'elf as a magical being. And, of course, it makes it harder to experience or recognize the magical nature of life overall. This doesn't mean that one cannot also believe in science but it is important to understand that science is a methodology for exploring and coming to comprehend Nature and the Universe and the accumulated data and the theories about it so far. We are not against science because we are in harmony with Nature and the Universe. Science merely seeks to reveal those things.

     And when we say we seek to live in harmony with Nature, we mean exactly that. Elfae beings, at least those upon the Elven Way, don't seek to exploit Nature but to live in harmony with it and with all other beings, in as much as possible. We generally tend to be recyclable, renewable, sustainable lifestyle sorts of folk. Thus, we believe in reincarnation. We are into permaculture and generally prefer less concrete in our world and more trees and bushes. We like our cities covered in vines, with fruit trees along the roads so there is food for everyone. 

     As to living in harmony with the Divine Magic, this means that while we are not religious folk, although one could have relationships with various deities if they wished upon the Elven Way, that is up to them, we do believe in a unifying energy that lives in all of us, which is magical and which seeks its perfection through our own being, each and every one of us. We are the atoms of its being.

     So, first discover who you are, which is also who you wish to be as an elfae being. Elfae magic is and has always been, according to the lore, all about making wishes come true. In this case, it is our own wish we are granting and that is the wish to be whomever we wish to be in the first place. So, who do you wish to be? And how do you become that being? You do so by manifesting it through your life. We do so by being the elfae folk we are.

And by this we come to understand who we wish to be, because we wish to be certain beings because that's who we are. Dragons don't wish to be elves. Trolls don't wish to be faeries. We are all attracted to our own s'elves. Although, it is true there are those who are of mixed races, elf and dragon, elf and faerie, etc. Upon the Elven Way, it is all possible.

     Ultimately, we come to understand that we are not our bodies. Our bodies are temporary housing for our spirits. Therefore, we elfae folk upon the Elven Way don't define ours'elves by our physical being but by our spiritual being. Therefore, the fact that we are elves who don't have biological elf ears or faeries who don't have naturally attached faeries wings, etc. doesn't bother us because we know who we are within ours'elves and that is what is really important. At least, that is the case for those of us upon the Elven Way.

     It is a necessity, however, to be tolerant of others. Mutual tolerance is a significant feature of the Elven Way. You can't expect others to respect your unique s'elfhood if you don't respect theirs. Everyone defines thems'elves. None of us have the right to define others. And so it goes on and on through the ages.

The Magic of the Shining Ones

"As the awakened elf takes on greater initiation and begins to function creatively in cooperation with the Shining Ones and with Faerie itself, which is to say the Source, the great Magic, hir magical growth is quickened by the increased power and the intensity of the forces that sHe now uses for hir magical creations. Naturally, this causes a rapidity of evolutionary development that will not be found in your average normal person who most often not only doesn’t embrace change, as the adept elf does, but actively avoids it, in fact, is in many ways terrified by its possibilities. This acceptance of new energies and possibilities by the elf, tends to arouse here-to-fore un-accessed parts of hir being, awakening latent talents, powers and abilities. Remember most humans only use a small portion of their brain capacity, and this increase in energetic connection tends to illuminate greater portions of our brains. In time, this development will prove evolutionarily significant."


"There are a number of effects of this evolutionary initiatory development for the adept elf, the first of which is that since the elf’s powers are being heightened, the elf thus has more power to do good, as well as being faced with greater temptation, which is to say opportunity, to misuse this power. This is where the development of magical maturity becomes so very important. The elf comes to understand that magic is the use of will power to create effects in the world, but also that initiation requires the development of magical and enlightened intent. It is not enough to be able to create change according to one’s will, one needs to create the type of change that will rebound positively for hir and all others and bring hir ever closer to Faerie by increasing hir awareness of and actualization of hir own true s’elf."

"Another effect, and this is an effect of growing maturity, is that the elf has a maximized increase in experience compared to most folks. That is to say that the elf experiences in a few years what others often take a lifetime to experience. This is in part why we so often are called old souls, and in fact, this is in part a result of having been through much of this in previous incarnations and are often recapitulating those lifetimes in this one, thus moving through such experiences much more quickly than a normal person tends to do."

"But also this is an effect of our increased vibrational rate in addition to our greater understanding of life and the occult, magical and mystical aspects of life. We process experiences more quickly and have less of a tendency to cling to things we have endured. We are more flexible, adaptable and less resistant to change. We are less likely to struggle with change and more likely to try to shape it to our intent. We always take with us what is valuable for us from our experience, but we are ever moving onward. Also, due to the increased vibrational frequency, we attract those who bring us even more experiences, greater knowledge and understanding. In part, this is a consequence of having cleared much of our karma and having set our course in such a way as to minimalize accumulating more negative karma, and when we do happen to do so, that is take a wrong karmic turn, we deal with it quickly, making adjustments and reparations as soon as we are able."

"Here also comes, with increasing clarity, the realization that our personal Destiny and the Destiny of all beings on our particular planetary system are in most cases intimately entwined. The threads of fate, karma and destiny hold us together lifetime after lifetime. And it is at this point that the adept elf begins to realize that the development of her power and abilities, the increasing power of her true s’elf, is not only in her own best interest, but in keeping with the true interest of everyone else as well. Thus it is also at this time that the elf plunges hirs’elf near totally into development of hir personal powers. SHe hungers to be greater, to have power in the world, and as long as sHe holds steadfast to hir intent, hir vision and the Elven Way, this is a natural and favorable advance in hir progress. This after all is the test. It is not just about increasing one’s magical and other powers in a world that is, shall we say, magically challenged at this time, but being able as spirits to hold to the greater vision and not fall for the illusion, the maya, that is the world as it appears to be, and therefore become entangled in the endless fulfillment of desires without any understanding of the true goal that we seek to actualize. One must be aware not only of this lifetime, but the progress of what is called liåle in Arvyndase, or samsara in Buddhist philosophy, that is the progress of our soulful spirit through the lifetimes."
