Do we Elves have a Sixth Sense that Allows us to See Everything Around Us? And do we Elves Show our Emotions Mostly in our Eyes?

Do we elves have a sixth sense that allows us to see everything around us?

     Those of us who are elfae; and those who aren't elfae but do magic, too; and those who are of a religious bent, especially those who are mystic; as well as those who are meditators; and, of course, those who have received enlightenment, at least in part, from the herbs of Nature are more inclined, overall, to have a greater connection to and feeling for the spirit world. We become more attuned in that way.

     Children often just naturally see into the ethereal realms until the world convinces them that what they are seeing isn't real. And, of course, dogs and surely cats and other animals see things that the normal folk are no longer able to see. Some of us, especially those of an elfae nature, simply don't lose that ability that we had when we were really young or at least not entirely. Sometimes, perhaps often, we conceal that we see things that others do not. And we generally don't talk about it to those who don't also 'see', for they wouldn't believe us anyway, but we still see things of an otherworldly nature.

     But more than that, we think, we tend to 'feel/sense' things. It is not so much a matter of seeing with our eyes but feeling with our souls and our instincts. We frequently know that what we feel is not always exactly correct. For the otherworld does tend to be a bit 'misty' to perceive and that can arouse our paranoias. However, we also know that to ignore our instincts is, frequently, to suffer for doing so. So, we pay close attention to our feelings and instincts but we endeavor to not jump to conclusions until the mist clears and we can see/feel more clearly. Then, we may jump if we have to but we are better prepared to do so.

     The fact is that we elfae folk are usually imbued by legend, lore and myth with powers that we don't entirely have at the moment. Some people take that as a sign that we are not really the elves, faeries, gnomes, pixies, etc. that we claim we are because we don't live up to their expectations of the powers they think we should have and the physical form they've come to expect us, from various tales, to have. Which is, in part, why we don't go generally around claiming we are elves. Rather, we just live our lives as the elves that we truly are and we leave others to think of us what they will. We are not here to live up to their expectations. Nor do we have any interest in doing so. Except for the fact that, yes, some of the things they think we should be sound pretty good to us as well. We'd love to have naturally pointed ears if it wasn't for the fact that if we did, they'd probably decide pointed ears were a sign of the devil and would murder us for having them. And then our parents would have our ears clipped in secret after we were born in a sort of circumcision in order to protect us. Which, if you go by some elven lore (which we are now making up) is how we came to have rounded ears in our current manifestations.

     And naturally, we'd like to be immortal. That is one of the primary goals of all life and certainly one that we elfae and nearly everyone else have embraced. It is, really, a matter of time and, of course, as always, a continuing effort to evolve and develop ours'elves. 



And do we elves show our emotions mostly in our eyes?

     Well, as always, it depends upon the individual elfae. And elfae is a term that indicates the vast variety of elfin faerie life and beings from elves to trolls, faeries to goblins, pixies to grimlins and all folk from the Realm of Faerie. Even, if you just speak of we elves, we are not all the same. In fact, we elves are noted for being quite different as individuals. You might say that being unique as individuals is part of what makes us elven unique as a people. That and the reality that we accept uniqueness and eccentricity instead of trying to peer pressure it to death.

      We elves are not, overall, an emotional people. We are a more feeling folk than emotionally inclined. Our feelings are subtle and we are usually less demonstrative about them, although we can be quite enthusiastic when it comes to our elf friends, family and kindred. We like them to know how much we love and adore them. As well as us being rather childlike in our enthusiasm concerning our particular interests and advocations. As we mature, of course, we become less inclined to gabber about our enthusiasms than when we are younger, but still, if you ask, we'll be glad to tell you all about them.

     We Silver Elves for our part do make a distinction between emotions and feelings. And this is important to understand. We see emotions as feelings that have been aroused mainly by thoughts. They are, to our minds, like coffee that has had a bunch of water poured into it. Or, perhaps better, a clear spring where the mud at the bottom has been stirred up. Feelings are pure water, emotions are the mud. 

     To get to one's true feelings, one has to remove the logic of the mind from it and get down to the feelings themselves. Which usually involves going back to that period in one's life before the mind, the opinions or introjects of one's parents and society began being interposed on everything in an attempt to enculturate us.

     We also feel the same way about 'gut instincts'. Most people when they talk about 'trusting their gut' usually mean not thinking about things and just doing what they 'feel' like doing. Except, if they are not self examined using some sort of somatic meditation then it is not usually their feelings they are talking about so much as their preconceptions and prejudices and often their desires. It is not instincts they are speaking of but a reluctance, in this case, to consider facts. In that way, it seems an avoidance of thought, but really it is an avoidance of reconsidering those things one has already set their mind on and accepted as fact. Yet, when true gut instincts are truly aroused, we elves have found it is wise to heed them. To do otherwise is usually to suffer for doing so.

     Part of what meditation is about is removing the influence of one's mind and coming to a place of silence where pure feeling and perception, without judgment can take place. It is a state of pure being. Which is why if someone asks if we think we are elves, we have to say that we don't think we are elves, which is to say we don't believe we are elves because of what we think entirely, but of who we are in our feelings and our pure being. Although, mostly it is a matter of magic, which is to say, we are elves because the magic we do is elven and we are shaped by our behaviors. But also, because we love all things faerie and elven and we believe, like those who say, 'You are what you eat,' that 'We are what we love.' 

     As to whether our emotions show mostly in our eyes, we'd have to say, it is not our emotions that are displayed in our eyes but our feelings and our vibrant life energy. We elven are not usually much for emotional displays other than those that illuminate what we truly feel and what we truly feel is a tremendous love for all of you.

STAR ELVES: Their Customs and Their Magic is all about star elves and by the term Star Elves, we mean elves who have a sense or feeling of having come from the stars. This relationship we feel to the stars may indicate a memory of our ethereal lives before we came to the Earth to manifest in material bodies rather than necessarily having had material bodies out among the stars. In our star lives, we were closer to the ‘star stuff’ we are all composed of and which has now ‘solidified’ into a relatively set form due to gravity. We Silver Elves say that we are the Elves of Starlight, Moonlight and the Radiance of the Forest, and therefore in a way we are Star Elves, Moon Elves and Wood Elves. We are like many elven and elfae folk who also relate to a number of different energies, spirits and kintypes.


                                                        

The Arvyndase word phrases contained in ARVYNDASE PHRASES: 1,400 More Words from the Silver Elves Magical Elfin Language are an addition to our Arvyndase language already published (see our three books The Complete Dictionary of Arvyndase; and Arvyndase (Silver Speech): A Short Course in the Magical Language of The Silver Elves; and also The Book of Elf Names). These are words that represent phrases with more complex meanings. Also, many of the Arvyndase words in this book represent an entire experience in Nature. These word phrases are simply shortcuts in Arvyndase, but one could, if they desired, write the entire meaning out.

These are the FAERIE RUNES that faerie witches, in particular, and faerie seers might use as well as elvish and faerie magic wielders and diviners of various kinds and, of course, the faeries thems’elves. This is, as its title implies, an Elven Urban Dictionary. It has numerous expressions that we Silver Elves use, some which we invented and some are inspired by what was taught to us in oral tradition long ago by our elven ancestors The Elf Queen’s Daughters. Also, you will find included terms expressing numbers of types of elfae people that you won’t find in the traditional lore but which we have encountered in our own lives as we have wandered about the modern world.      In reading WOOD ELVES: The Customs and Magic of the Sylvan Folk, you will find discussed 180 various wood elf tribes (a chapter is devoted to each) of which there are numerous member clans and also often families of various clans. Many of the tribes have multiple clans; for instance, the Hackberry tree related tribe called the Lotåcani has nearly 70 clans (and there are many tree tribes with even more clans). So, while we include the name of the tree or shrub, along with the tree tribe name and about its elven life, appearance, history, clan relationships and magic, we are unable to elaborate upon many of the clans for it would make this tome far too vast. However, the tribes and clans that we do illuminate are those who are best known among us. In Faerie and Elfin, diversity is a way of life. Nature loves diversity and so does the Divine Magic that created it all. And Faerie is ever evolving. New clans or tribes can pop up while others may disappear.

     And also do take a look at one of the last chapters in the book that has a Wood Elf Script for you to use in writing your wood elf tribe and name and any messages that you may wish to use in your forest magic. We Silver Elves know that other many wood elves also love to paint magic rocks and leave them in the forest, and to do so the Wood Elf Script is perfect for using to inscribe your magic wishes.

Here below is a 7 day meditation on the 7 pointed Elven Star. We Silver Elves began this meditation in 1986 "Opening the Gateway to Faerie" and have ever since been doing it at least once a year around September or October. We invite you to join us (at any time in the year), dear Kindred, in doing this meditation, as we begin Day One with a meditation for Point One, and proceed each day for a week with a meditation until all 7 points are complete. You can see that it is a meditation on each ray and the goal is for the healing of the Elfae people and of Mother Earth (Gaia). And here is an over all mantra spell for the seven days:
